FAMILIES IN RESIDENCE
YURIKO
The Yuriko Family is one that plays a role of prominence in the Wagyu breed.
The family exist in the USA via the import of the Japanese Venture Partnership in 1994. The Yuriko’s have established there worth in the genetic building blocks overtime. In todays modern era if you take the time to follow the maternal origins of many of the most popular sires both in the USA and abroad you will find your way back to the Yuriko Cow.
Here at Kentucky Stud Wagyu we have a very special Yuriko in residence, she is the Matriarch of the herd.
CHR MS FUKUTSURU 148N Reg #FB5581
At 17 years of age as of this writing, she continues to “rule the roost”. She calves every year and spends her days roaming the hills with many of her daughters, while keeping them all in line.
As a direct daughter of the great marble sire, Fukutsuru 068 she carries great marbling genes and carries them to her Yuriko roots.

148N is a special Yuriko as her third dam is the Yuriko 1 Cow. She is a maternal sister to Dai 5 Yuruhime , better known as the dam of Hirashegetayasu 001 . That is some serious power in the blood!
Since Yuriko FB340 only had two progeny (the two females mentioned prior ) we feel as if we have our own branch of this limited Yuriko family origin here on the Stud.
So, we continue to move forward with this family and their tremendous genetic merit.
A pair of large bodied, excellent temperament females’ flush sisters.
They sport Shigeshigetani on the top side of their phenomenal maternal ties to the Yuriko Cow. They get there with an excellent sire stack that brings both marbling and size to their progeny.

STUD YURIKO -RUKI 416 Reg #FB19968
416 is yet another daughter out of our special link to the Yuriko Cow.
She unlike her sisters however is sired by World K’s Haruki 2. He is best known as the sire of Shigeshigetani. So, we have a similar breeding strategy here to her sisters, however no prevalence of the Suzutani Cow in here.
